Testimonials

Sadie Pizzey photo

“My original site was slow and clunky but Daren worked tirelessly to make it the best it could be. He completely took all the stress off my hands and even communicated with my website host directly, which meant I didn’t have to be involved at all.

“Daren’s knowledge and skills are excellent: he certainly understands the complex world of web design. Daren worked long hours to make sure every problem was resolved. I would definitely recommend Public Face and I will be using them again very soon.”

“Daren worked with us throughout the process and took time to understand our needs and what we wanted to achieve.

“We highly recommend Public Face for anyone seeking to create or strengthen their online presence.”

Questions and Answers:

What should I know about your pricing?

After discussing your requirements, we’ll prepare a quote for the work involved.

As a small, home-based business, we don’t have the overheads of a larger concern, so we’re able to pass that advantage on to our clients by offering very competitive pricing.

How do you start with a new client?

We’ll look through any brief or information provided by the client and aim to understand what’s required. We may draw up a few drafts. Then we’ll talk with the client through our understanding and ask any further questions necessary to be certain of the client’s needs. From there, we can give a quote and, if hired, get on with the work!

What education, training and experience do you have?

Because Public Face offers a full website creation and management service, as well as graphic design for web or print, there are a wide range of skills required to cover what we do, including:

  • graphic design
  • customer communication and needs analysis
  • website creation including coding (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP etc.), design, optimisation, hosting options, SEO, current CMS platforms
  • documentation and training

For Daren, the person behind Public Face, these skills were acquired via a graphic art qualification, a Computer Science (BSc Hons) degree, and over 20 years’ experience in website design and management, document design, digital print design and running this small business.

Why should I choose you?

You want to work with someone who is responsive, experienced and approachable, and will put energy and time into ensuring they understand what you need. The difference between success and failure is communication, and we’ll be sure that you’re being listened to and understood, and you’re kept informed as the project progresses.

Just as pros like me aim to build a longer term client relationship, it’s generally very valuable for the client too: there’s a depth of understanding that develops, helping make future projects more efficient and therefore cost-effective. This business was founded in 2003, and I intend to continue to be available for my clients for years to come.

What information or questions should I have ready before speaking to you?

We don’t want to tell you what to ask, but would expect that, in our discussion, we would cover obvious items like: the scope of the project; the expected start and end date; who’d be the point(s) of contact; the expected cost. Whatever information you have about the project – your ideas and expectations for it – are very useful right at the start.

Daren Allder: the face of Public Face.

With over twenty years’ experience in website creation and management, Daren has the expertise and understanding to help you meet your online goals. He’s worked for and with a wide variety of companies, groups and organisations over those years, including:

  • global companies
  • charities
  • small businesses (from tattoo studios to architects!)

publicface.co.uk is based in Woking, Surrey, UK.

Although much of the work can be done remotely, there’s tremendous value in meeting face to face – at least at the start, to aid understanding of each other and the project. Currently, of course, meeting in person can be difficult or impossible, so online video calls are the next best option, using Zoom or similar.
